Small Town Familiar Faces
These two walkers are a familiar faces along the square in Oregon. This is my mom and her dachshund Trixie. She lives just off of the corner and they walk all around town several times a day. When I explain my mom to someone, I describe her as the lady who walks the black dachshund. Then most anyone who lives in Oregon will know exactly who I am talking about.
As you might guess, that little dachshund is a spoiled dog. Not just my mom spoils Trixie though. The grocery store on the square has treats ready for her when she stops by. Several people around town know her by name and will stop to greet her. Trixie and my mom are just a couple of the familiar faces around town.
Running across so many familiar faces is unavoidable in a small town. You can’t make a trip to the local grocery store without seeing someone you know or someone who knows you. In fact, you will recognize most of the people you run into. Although at times you would like to sneak in and out of a store incognito, most of the time it is welcoming to be surrounded by familiar faces. This is just part of living life in a small town!
I took this photo on a Sunday afternoon when most of the businesses along the square are closed. This makes the square pretty bare of cars and people. It is a great time to take a walk, visit the monuments at the courthouse and take a closer look at the buildings around the square.

The Word
Acts 4:32-35. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
