The Refuge
Loess Bluff National Wildlife Refuge is just a short country drive from our small town of Oregon, MO. There is an abundance of wildlife here, especially the birds. They also have a great auto route, walking trails and host several events throughout the year. If you want to take the scenic route to or from Oregon, you definitely have to go route 159 and stop in or drive through the auto tour.
We are very fortunate to have such a great place nearby. We have had many car rides to the refuge, slowly going through the auto route spotting birds, deer, and even a coyote or two. There may be kids fighting over which window they get to sit by or complaining because they can’t see the deer out in the field, but it is so much better than the fighting over what to watch on YouTube! We have also done some summer kids classes there that included many fun activities! We were catching bugs, racing frogs and getting the waders on and going out in the water!
We have made a lot of great memories at the refuge with our family. And I have great memories as a kid with my family. If you are interested in learning more about the refuge, be sure to visit their site HERE.

The Word
Job 12: 7-10. 7 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; 8 or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. 9 Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? 10 In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
